Aircraft Maintenance, Electrical Systems, and Hazard Communication in the Air Force Practice Test

The AIM-120 AMRAAM is built to engage airborne targets from an aircraft. Its designation includes Air-to-Air, and it’s designed for medium- to long-range interceptions with its own onboard active radar seeker, allowing a fighter to launch and then let the missile find and destroy an enemy aircraft without closing to visual range. It isn’t intended for ground targets, naval ships, or radar-emission suppression roles, which is why it’s not an air-to-ground, anti-ship, or anti-radiation missile.
